Real Estate Investment Firm Goes Digital
Situation
Our customer is one of North America's largest commercial real estate investment firms, managing a portfolio of prime real estate worth billions.
For one of their buildings, located in the central business district in downtown Montreal, they decided to install some digital signage in order to inform customers about upcoming events and meetings in the Conference Centre.
Solution
AVW-TELAV installed a 30” LCD flat panel display in the mezzanine entrance of the conference centre. The purpose of this flat panel display is to inform the public of upcoming events, meetings and all other information pertaining to the conference centre. A 27” television monitors was also installed in the entrance lobby, the elevator lobby and the cafeteria.
Behind the scenes, a control PC and a display PC were set up in a local office where a trained staff member can upload the necessary information. A local cable network is configured to display the latest news, weather & sports.
A converter was used to carry the video signals to the various monitors allowing use of cost-effective and space-saving CAT5 cabling (and transmitters, where distance was an issue), instead of expensive coaxial cables.
Results
Video and data are simultaneously displayed on screen. The messaging is changeable, which keeps it fresh. While the content is mainly to announce upcoming conferences, it can also attract and retain viewers with other programming such as news, customers service messages, or short informational segments on various topics.
