Situation

The International Centre had utilized AVW-TELAV as its recommended supplier for many years in the past, for specific events whenever the need arose. However, as they approached the construction of a new landmark conference centre space for the facility, they determined it was important to formalize an agreement with an AV provider.

At the same time, they faced a need to install a range of permanent AV infrastructure in the new space and ensure the installation was coordinated as a part of the construction and facility design.

In many facilities, the two are not linked. The net result in those facilities is that the permanent systems are installed but with limited overall perspective on the day-to-day needs of the facility and future revenue opportunities.

Solution

Understanding both these needs and the importance of cohesion between base AV infrastructure and ongoing operations, AVW-TELAV proposed a combined approach to the International Centre, utilizing the skill sets and capabilities of both our Rental & Staging division and our System Design & Integration division.

Results

The outcome was a combination of permanently installed equipment owned by the International Centre and a permanent inventory of AVW-TELAV rental equipment, minimizing the owner's capital costs and providing additional revenue opportunities for the facility. This combined infrastructure supports almost all aspects of the facility's event-staging requirements, providing clients with available special effects lighting, video projection, performance and distributed/paging audio, certified rigging points within the ceiling, and digital signage for the entrance foyer, lobby areas and at the entry to each meeting room.

The end result is that the International Centre and its clients get end-to-end accountability from AVW-TELAV for operation and support of any audio or visual equipment on site.

The International Centre's new addition is a showpiece for the broader facility itself, for AVW-TELAV, and for the Southern Ontario market. AVW-TELAV is proud to have played an important role in what we are sure will be quickly recognized as one of the premier conference facilities in the region and beyond.
